Unhappy motor-bore-block help

My evo motor was built years ago and is over bore already. Ive been running a little over 500whp until my motor took a crap again lol. Mitsubishi says the bore size where im at now is considered safe but my shop told me the block is damaged and doesn't know if its worth trying to fix. I would have to have go to 87mm which is the next size up and would have to pay the machine shop to start to bore to see if its able to be done. My question is , is it worth it to try and work on this block and bore it to 87mm or just get a new block to build and play it safe? Has anyone ever personally done this?

any help would be greatly appreciated since im about to spend $6000 for a pre built motor

What block is in the car? Safe largest bore size on the 4g63 is 86mm. To go to 87mm means you would need a 4g64 block.
