Cams

I am getting a timing belt / wp job done. I was thinking about having English throw on some Cams for me for some increased power. My car makes 406 who currently. I'm sure there are several threads about this already but do Cams on an Evo drastically affect drivibality? I have never driven one with Cams. Does anyone regreat the mod??

I just had S2's & an 71HTA installed & the 60K service. I too was set at approx 400 Dynojet HP

It now Dynos at 460 WHP. It feels just a bit softer on the bottom end but pulls harder into the 7K region (did not have that range before the cams)

Now, the idle is just to dye for / I love just listening to the lope (certainly not the reason to get them LOL)

If you want to run bigger cams than GSC S1, you should upgrade your stock springs and retainers too. How many miles do you have?

You should consider springs and retainers too. And also consider Kiggly's HLA Pressure Regulator. Do your research on differences between the cams.

Motor has about 60k the tranny and so forth has 120k. U think the Kelfords would be too much? U suggest S1 or S2's?

Depends on if you want to spend extra for springs and retainers. 264 can use stock springs so install is much easier. Redline stays the same with stock springs and retainers (which are beehives).

Do a compression test to see where you are. Don't be like me where I ended up doing it twice because my valves were leaking and I didn't pull my head to install my S2, springs, and retainers. If I knew my compression was starting to leak, I would have pulled my head and get it tested.

Are you buying Kelfords new? I know someone with Kelfords and snapped his intake cam. I think he got a bad batch years ago and didn't realized.
