Do I need to port my head and run cdi ignition for 900hp
You can make 900HP without issue on std size gsc or supertech valves and a non ported cylinder head. I wouldn't risk running higher mileage used valves. Is the porting required? No. Will it help gain some extra power? Yes.
People have made 900HP+ on a non CDI COP with healthy coils using iridium plugs gapped on the tighter side. I would probably get the CDI if budget allows.
