Anti-surge block off, on a kinugawa 3" compressor cover

Hi guys. I am currently running a TME Rs turbo @1.5 bar - I don't feel I can push it much more. Recently I got a deal on an 80 series evo 9 turbo, that I want to upgrade a bit. I was looking at the kinugawa's 20g, 11 blade GTX billet kit, with 3" compressor cover. Now I really don't want the anti-surge, but they don't offer a 3" housing without one. I was wondering if it is going to be a problem, to plug the anti-surge openings and send it?

Also, anyone know the torque spec for the turbo's compressor wheel nut? I found some different info on the net and I want to make sure I torque it to spec.

just buy the 3.25" compressor cover from Snail Turbo on ebay that's the non anti surge. Also I would not just swap wheels and go. youll need to rebalance the whole rotating assembly after installing the billet wheel.

Um....why do you not want to anti surge housing?

Good call on the snail turbo cover - I was only checking uk ebay, as that's where I am. Balancing the rotating assembly is a must - I wouldn't just put it together and run it, that's lame. I also wouldn't trust a shop to torque the nut to the right Nm, that's why I am looking for the torque spec for it.

Um... because I need it to spool as fast as possible. Do you have(or know someone that has) surge problems with 80 series and 11 blade 20g?

the 11 blade wheels will be more prone to surge. Although I do understand not wanting the surge cover to get the most flow possible, even though some companies claim their isnt a loss in peak flow, others will argue that. Im a big fan of the 7 blade KTS 20G wheel (part number D656) has worked great on everything ive used it for. And you can torque the nut by just going another 1/4 turn from finger tight. also be sure to use Loctite

Is the extra flow of the 11 blade the reason for the higher possibility to surge or the design?
I was in Kuala Lumpur just a few months ago, if I only knew about KTS
Anyone else with exact torque specs for the nut? I am a man of numbers, I'd hate to eyeball such an important fastener...
