ACT Xtreme 6 puck lockout third gear/ Maybe transmission
Broke in the clutch for at least 1000 miles. Last weekend experiencing third gears lockout (4 pull) and yes it's ACT Xtreme 6 puck. It got so bad that on the last pull that the clutch pedal had some major vibration ( grinding metal sound) and I decided to stop and go home. Drivetrain was making a lot noise at low RPM on first and second gears but once in third gear everything was fine and I was able to drive home with no issue until I go to second and first gears. This morning that grinding sound was present in 1-2-3 gears I decided to send it back to the shop. Any idea? please let me know
Will do but not sure if this is gone to be enough. Also when doing the pull I let the clutch slip a little but never smell the clutch odor since install? So i don't know what is going on.
I have a ACT 6 puck sprung with the extreme pressure plate as well. After the 500 miles break in I had to adjust the clutch pedal so that it engages closer to the top. That eliminated all the lockout issues I had. Careful not to adjust it too much where the clutch is always slightly disengaged. You'll smoke the hell out of it. Hopefully you didn't force it into gear during the lock out events. That would break trans parts pretty quickly.

My 6puck and hdss act clutch liked high engage points. Never had a lockout issue. I would adjust it like the user above said where it engages near the very top of the clutch travel. Mine catches at the last inch it feels like. Also make sure you have a small amount of free play on the pedal itself at the top. So when you put your foot on it, it will depress very little with barely any weight on it and then it gets heavy.
