gsc 5041 question

Hello there. I bought gsc s2 cams with gsc 5041 for my car. I am with stock internals and stock turbo. Some people said that i shouldn buy those valve spring kit and the 5040 it will be better for me. I need to ask if those 5040-5041 has that much differences? Shall i change them before installing them ? Please help

You only need the 5040 for the S2's. The retainer is different on the 5041, giving more seat pressure. IIRC that's the only difference. You won't hurt anything using the 5041's with S2's. In theory the higher seat pressure could shorten the life of certain valvetrain components (valves, valve seats, etc), but I don't think its significant enough to really matter.

so keeping 5041 will not be a bad idea right?

I'm using 5041 with S2. It gives me comfort in knowing I have less chance of valve float if I accidentally misshift one day. Only extra wear I can think of is on cam lobes, cam caps (should be slightly more), rocker bearings, and lifters each time valves are opened. Other than that, it's the same as with other valve springs.
I just pay attention to my valvetrain noises to listen for any collapsed lifter.
