Evo 6 2.0LR

Hi. I'm about to build engine soon.

I will use my old block + head and replacing internals and some other equipment. Engine has 160 000 kms on it. Block and head will be resurfaced and cylinders bored to pistons specs.

- Oliver/BW I beams 156mm
- Wiseco 1400HD pistons 85.5mm (0.5 oversize)
- New OEM crank
- Supertech valves
- BC single springs & retainers
- Kelford/JUN 272 cams
- BS eliminator kit
- Whole timing belt
- FP race manifold
- FP Red turbo
Two options for fueling system.

For gas setup ID 1050 injectors with walbro 255.
E85 - Flexfuel kit and walbro 455 e85 pump, but what injectors to go with these.
Should I go E85 if looking to achieve 500-500 bhp?
Is fuel rail needed to upgrade?
What are your experiences on RC & Precision injectors?

RC engineering are good injectors.

I would not do a long rod on stock stroke. Not necessary.

You mean I wouldn't get much more out of LR than regular setup? The cost going LR is pretty much same price as regular setup.
Is there downside in long rod build in 500-600hp vs regular rods?

There's no gains to made lol. You're just needlessly increasing piston dwell time. The factory rod ratio is fine, no need for a longer rod.

There's nothing wrong with more dwell time, it makes an engine more knock tolerant and you get a more complete combustion.

you also get less side loading.. the only negative is that you need to use a piston that has the pin going trough the oil ring groove... you also need to be careful about piston selection. Lots of guys run normal stroker pistons not realizing that the CR is wrong..
