500hp Evo 8 build

Wanna make my Evo get into the low 500’s as a daily driver. Need thoughts on how to reach this goal!

Parts Installed:

Tomei Catback Exhaust
Tomei Straight Pipe
Tomei Downpipe/02 housing
Archer Fabrications Factory Replacement Exhaust Manifold
Mishimoto Radiator
Mishimoto Race Intercooler
Injen Intercooler Piping
Injen Air Intake
TurboXS Bov
S2 Cams
400ph Walbro Fuel Pump

I was thinking of getting an FP Red turbo and some ID 1300cc injectors to get to 500 but I don’t know if it will be enough. Looking to rebuild the engine at the end of the year after.

on e85 you should be able to get there with a FP red.

A red and 1300s will be enough to make 500 on E85 without breaking a sweat. It could also probably get pretty close on 93 too. You might need an aftermarket FPR if you try to do it on E85.

If you are going with the MHI red its going to need E85 to make a reliable 500whp +. Pump gas with that housing is good for around 430-450whp or so. The Twin scroll makes for factory like spool up but does create back pressure and limits top end power on the stock bottom end. Still my favorite bolt on turbo combination

I had a similar setup with the MHI Red and ID1300's and it was alot of fun. The ID1300's are a great Injector and provide crisp response and good mileage. I would consider going to an FP manifold as the car may sound better with it then a tubular manifold. I would also move into a walbro 450 pump and a rewire that retains the factory high/low voltage. The 400 pump may not make enough fuel to max the 1300's out around 500whp on a dynojet.

If you are doing a BB turbo you will need to enlarge the vent in the Valve cover and have a recirculated catchcan system. A turbosmart oil pressure regulator may also be a good idea to keep oil pressure to the turbo in check.
This is what my car sounds like with the FP manifold and full tomei system. It’s louder now at this level then my stock engine was (Cams/boost pressure)

It would be enough with the FP red SS (Evo VIII). That is my daily and on E-85, i'm over 500whp and on 93 about 430wp. You should be right there, but the rest is on the tuner job to get it up there . I still have a little more HP to go since I had a minor boost leak but you are headed in the right direction.
