Block identification

Ok so I have a identification chart for the evo blocks. And the engine I pulled from my car isn't on the chart. I have a 05 MR the 2 letters on the block are KN.

The only blocks that drop into the evo are the 4g63, 4g64, and 4g69. Do you have any of those names stamped into the block on that flat rectangular part that identifies them?

Then you're probably fine. It could be that the chart itself is outdated. Are you looking for block verification to see if the vehicle has been modified?

It's very possible its out dated. I've already torn it apart. It was my xmas gift to myself to find out my block was shot. I bought a good low miles block to rebuild. But am confused/curious why production year makes a difference in a OEM complete overhaul gasket kit.
