usually this is due to broken diaphragm in the central diff.. unfortunately it is not a part that can be bought by itself..

 

just to clear the issue up a bit.. the clutch pack is pressurised by a piston driven by red hydraulic oil.. the piston has 2 O rings and while those are not availabe from mitsubishi, they might be sourced elsewhere..
