Talon 4g63 block vs evo 8 block ?

Silly question as I am still new to the world of evos . But i’m currently in need of a new block for my evo 8 . But i’ve been told I can take the block from the 2nd gen talons and it would work for the evo ( only because they seem to sell the blocks for talons way way cheaper ) . Now i’m sure theres a thread similar to my question but will that actually work ? Are they the same blocks ?
Thanks in advance

No, the bellhousing pattern is different and you would need a custom adapter plate to get the starter in the right spot.

The best solution for a cheap option is to use a 4G64 block out of a 3G eclpise.

Well my thing is I recently bought the stage 1 rebuild kit for the 2.0 4g63 . If I go 4g64 wouldnt I need different pistons and a 100mm crank ?

It depends on what type of displacement you want to go for. You can build a 2.1, 2.2, or 2.4 and 2.1LR, 2.2LR, 2.4LR from the 4g64 block. If you want to use the same crank from the 4g63 (88mm), you can build a 2.1 or 2.1LR which are some of the most reliable high RPM motors you can get. If you are in San Diego I happen to have a spare 4g64 block for sale.

The rods and pistons may need to change though because of the difference in deck height with a 4g63 vs a 4g64 . You would want to do this anyway if you are putting together a built motor.
