no start after cam install

So as the title suggests my car won't start
Ran perfect before tear down
Set timing at tdc
Removed timing components
Removed stock cams
Bleed lifters. Kept them so I was able to depress them with my finger
Installed hks cams
Retorqued every thing to spec
Installed cas trigger (small side at sensor at tdc and big side at about 45* opposite)
Installed belt, all marks at tdc
Cranked motor with ratchet, w/o spark plugs . motor crank freely no binding
Reinstalled everything else
Went to start car and it just Cranks. No hesitating and back firing. Just endless cranking. I read through a few other threads that pointed at the cas. Checked that again along with timing marks and all are good. Checked my connectors and every thing is plugged in (crank sensor, o2, coils, cas) no codes when I scanned . I tried starting fluid and got nothing. What else should I took for

I noticed that my car was not pulling vacuum and cranking pretty fast, do I did one today. Surprising enough I got little to no compression. Thinking I belt my valves I pulled the head off and valves are fine. Did a hydro test and they are all perfectly sealed still. Im stumped.

Post some pictures with valve cover off at TDC where we can see cams, cam gears, and timing belt. Do you have your rockers installed?

yes that is the guide that a followed. I double checked on reinstall and checked it again when the car would not start

whats the best way to clean the surface of the block? I was using a metal razor to scrape a lot of the old gasket residue put it seems to be more difficult to get the thin stuff ( almost looks like a black stain) off.

I use scotch-brite and WD40 on the deck surface when doing it in the car. Clean with brake clean before re-installing the head, and copper coat the gasket. Make sure you have the head resurfaced.

Just got the head from the machine shop today its all freshned up. Hopefully I get it back on this upcoming weekend.

I have heard to stay away from copper spray on MLS gaskets. I have used it plenty of times on composite hg and other paper gaskets but I didn't plan on it with the mls
