Boost leak or fuel cut

over the weekend my evo had a new issue. I went to do a pull in 3rd and it boosted fine but when i shifted to 4th it felt like i hit a wall. I did another pull and went from 25lbs in 3rd and shifted into 4th and it built boost then felt like i hit a wall. Im boost leak testing it this weekend but want to know exactly what to look for

The easiest thing to do is check your tune to see at what LOAD you have fuel cut. If you are hitting fuel cut then up the LOAD.

Threw a boost leak tester on the car today and there doesnt seem to be anywhere the car could be sucking in too much air to cause it to lean out. What else can i check?

Fuel cut feels like you drove into a solid brick wall. start logging and check the load values when it's occurring

I had a similar problem. Any chance you are running the factory intake box and snorkel?

Just a quick update. Took the car out Sunday after i did the boost leak test and found nothing. Still boosts fine to 25lbs through whatever gear i start the pull in but as soon as i shift it stays at 5lbs and rpms dont move. Dont have evoscan to log it. Any ideas what to check next?
