Hey sorry, I'm super new to forums but this morning my harmonic balancer busted on my 5 (the bond between the the 2 parts broke) and I can get some Evo 8 parts from the dealer but can't find anything concrete to support which components will work for sure. Definitely need a harmonic balancer and new accessory belt but I figured while I'm in there I'll do timing belt and tensioners so if anyone has advice or any other threads I can't find I would greatly appreciate it.

 

All such parts are identical or/and interchangeable

Same everything exept for intake air box , everything else is interchagengable

 

Not quite, yes the crank pulley and the timing components he mentioned are the same but everything else is not identical.
Simple stuff like the thermostat, the alternator belt and the water pump are not the same on 5 vs 8. There are many small differences in parts between the 4-9 engines so make sure to check any part numbers for the jdm 456 before just ordering Evo 8 parts.

different intake manifold in terms of 5 6 dont have a map sensor
evo 56 rods are different a little weaker than 8 but not as bad as the evo 7...,

hey at least it aint an evo 4 those are trash
