Is there a way to tell if my rear diff has the clutches setup correctly?

Is there a way to tell if my rear diff has the clutches setup correctly?

Guys, like many of you I'm sure, I acquired my car used. I know the evos had the rear clutch packs in the diff installed incorrectly, but I'm wondering if there's a way to check and see if my car has already had it corrected?

I've read conflicting information about the whole jack up the car and spin the wheel to see. So just wondering or do I just need to pull it out of the car?

I tend to doubt that the re-stack could be verified w/out pulling the rear diff

I'm sort of in this boat. I know everyone seems to (not specifically on Evos) go with the whole, if the wheels spin in opposite directions, then open diff, and that all makes sense but I'm not sure it's always as simple as that. FWIW I can get power on oversteer. It's just annoying to open the thing up only to find that it's already been sorted by a previous owner.

There is no way to tell, that I know of, other than taking it apart.
It only takes about 45 mins to remove, check, reinstall.
Just be sure to have the right tools, particularly an impact gun, torque wrench, and impact screwdriver

take it off and check if its not fixed send it off to shep. They did the 12 plate on mine and I also sent the ACD ecu for a tune. World of a difference in autocross.

FYI Shep leaves the old plates in and adds few more. Not a full rebuild. I called them before sending mine to TRE.
May be no need for a rebuild. Try putting it together the right way first, then try it out.
Either way, good luck!
