What is required to make my automatic GTA INVEC-II stronger?
I cannot find any information for this anywhere but I hear people are doing it. What is needed to build up this INVEC-II 5 speed Automatic transmission in my GTA Evo? Do I just buy the gears I want from some random company that seems different and swap them in? I've never built a transmission and would love a guide or just a quick run down by someone.
Another option I like and hear about is people moving to sequential transmissions. On Google I found a company called, "Xshift" that is showing they basically swap out the insides of a regular manual gear box to make it clutch-less? Has anyone used this company? This option seems the most inexpensive. Could I do it with my automatic bell housing?
Also where on Earth is the, "Automatic GTA to Manual transmission.", Guide or How-To, that I have read and heard about.
Could I get this all done at a shop for under $2500 using a basic manual Evo gearbox and either use a standard tuned Evo ECU or could I still use my tuned GTA ECU and get rid of what I heard is a second automatic transmission ECU?
After lots more digging I found a whole library of stuff so I am posting the link which leads to various topics on here mostly, in case anyone needs it which they will.

Your best bet on information of high power built AT transmission is to hop on to Aus EVO or some obscure russian EVO site, they have figured out how to make automatic gearbox hold more power
Sequential gearbox is based off manual gearbox, usually cost in the region of US$10K and up(Drenth, Quaife QBE6U, Holienger etc etc)
No way you can get a sequential gearbox for US$2500

I build the auto boxes here in Aus at different levels of strength
I don't advertise that I do. Enough people know me to not
I don't build recos so the person can sell their car running
Any auto trans shop can weld planetary pins and just reco the rest
Also get the box tuned to shift faster and up the internal pressure.
Good luck.
You can relash the trans parameters to perform better than std to a point!
But beware, the Mitsu std settings are soft to prevent flexing clutch packs.
You can up the pres, shift times, convertor lockup ramping etc etc.
Upping the pres per gear flexes the piston plates more than they do now!
So while the box appears to be shifting better, it will ware clutches unparallel.
You can remove plates and check them with a straight edge and they might be flat.
But while the piston pushes the pres plate, it flexes like s _ _ t
After a while high heat will bend them permanently. Then they are cactus.
You can't expect that 2.5mm piston plate to stay flat even with HIGH pres.
The clutch pack's steels need modding to clamp strong and parallel IF you want to run
pres like what I run in mine. It is physically impossible otherwise.
So in a nut shell, very high pres needs very high strength to match it.

I am very curious as to who you are. I have heard of an Australian GTA on a built transmission running upwards of 400kw at the track. However from work reaching far back as 2008 there have been persons upping the internal pressure and this is the first I have heard of this specific issue. Could it be that you have much higher internal pressure than the norma due to the box being built to withstand your specific engine power out put?
One member on here has gone 10 sec with a heavier car on a similar box with raised internal pressure and other software tuning.

I'm Rockabilly on OZVR4 and a few others. Here GTA.RS since I put an RS in it
I prepped that GTA that roll raced. Quickest roll racing GTA here. It's 400+hp not kw
He wants my spec box, so I'm chasing up the planetaries for his
I built many 1g and RVR 4spd autos. 3 doing 9secs
Haven't raced my GTA except for circuit so far. Work in progress
Going for 700hp on my 3576 turbo so I can still circuit
Rockabilly- Aldo. Spent some time trying to get in contact with you, however Merlin (Dave) is normally the go between.
I wish you would share some of your products, this side of the globe as the support for this transmission is rather non existent. From tons of reading one may stumble across your work and that of others.
Kiggly and others have products for the earlier version in the DSM but there are no readily available solutions for this specific box. I have spent month pouring through the Russian and other website trying to gain information on the development of these boxes.

Yeah Merlin and I have been tweaking acd/ayc and auto mapping for some time.
Nice fella Dave. Around my age. Not saying my age tho. Just call it over the hill.
Richard's GTA has a beasty idle with Cosworth cams. I run more line pres in mine
you could say. 50kph shifts into 1st etc pushing the limits to try to break it.
My engine builder contacted me for a built 4spd auto. To my surprise he is
the builder of the Jett Racing engines. World record Eclipse 6.20sec and the
7sec ute and the Mustang 5sec. My 2.4lr built by him. I'm fabricating my own
venturi vacumm extraction system inside a dummy cat for my engine atm.
Been fabricating alli and manifolds etc on drag cars for years. Was a sheety
all my life and over engineering for strength to me is interesting.
Dave was telling me some fellas overseas with Airtreks want internal parts from me.
Are you one of the fellas ?

Yes I am one of the fellas with the airtrek hoping to get some of your internal parts. If I do hold onto mine will attempt to push it close to 500whp, currently have an fp hta 73DBB installed with HKS 272 cams, fic 1200cc injectors are waiting to go in. Think the stock airtrek IM is my current bottle neck so wanna deal with that and a few other things before pushing the car further. I have done some of the welding and changed to a 3.6 final drive. I think a slight taller stall make 3000 to 3500 rpm would be nice on my car. Using the GTA rom with Merlin updated xml containing LC from another member on here from Russia.
I have read up as much as I could find on you before Merlin indicated he knew you via another friend, so communications was made easier. It is a group of friend in a few different countries all pushing the airtrek platform a little further.
I have heard of Richard (heard you built multiple versions of the box for him) but not found much info on him nor do you all share videos.Would be wonderful if you did some sort of basic video what is happened down under with your mods.
Tons of good information. I really appreciate it! I have been talking to a guy who is running 500/500 power through his transmission and he had English Racing in Portland, Oregon build it up with/for him.
GT.RS, I am in Canada so part of the commonwealth countries so shipping should be easier but it will still be really expensive. Is Sikest saying you make stronger parts for the GTA transmission?
I would prefer to get someone to build the transmission here in British Columbia but I need the parts and to know what to do. A guy on the Facebook GTA group told me about welding the pins and he said he had is torque converter rebuilt with stronger parts and then also used stronger steels in the clutch? I know to weld the pins but what do I do with the wave spring? Someone said to weld it and another person said l need to replace it with a stronger one. So where do I buy a stronger one lol?
Where do I buy stronger clutch steels?
If I can get an already built torque converter and the rest of the parts except the pins then it sounds like I could get a local shop to do it in a few days.
I just need a clear list of what to do to the transmission and where to find the parts.
Here is a link to where you can buy some stock GTA Mitsubishi parts!!!
Here is a nice picture I took the other day for you all to enjoy. It shows the Fraser River just before it connects to the Pacific and Vancouver Island in the background across the water on the left not directly across the river lol, that is a man made island actually but is connected via bridge and tiny. Vancouver island guards Vancouver City from bad seas and such. I also mean Vancouver in Canada not the one in the states that a lot of people accidentally flooded during the Olympics lol.
