HKS help

Hello,

I'll be installing an HKS headgasket part# 23001-AM004 which was recommended to me by the engine builder as the bore on my block is 85.5 mm and this gasket is 86mm also my block is oringed , as I will installing the headgasket myself and never every before installed a hks metal headgasket before I'll be using 625 head studs.

my question is that do I need to apply any sealant or anything else on the gasket before installing it? Or just clean the head and block surface and install dry?

thanks

my machanic applied oil to mine and that f***ed up my hks gasket now waiting for another one to come so I replace again..so to answer I think you put in dry and just clean the surface of the head and block with some carb cleaner or cleaning alcohol.

Lots of people use copper spray or at least they use to on the head gaskets. If your head is being oringed I would just make sure surfaces are clean and install it.

Yes my Block is o Ringed...as the hks has a silicon coating which I read on the description on the hks website...I will just clean the surface and install it dry.

can carb cleaner be used to clean the surface of the block and head or clean alcohol?

Yes carb cleaner and or break cleaner will work just fine. Make sure you don't use a rag or anything to dry off being partials can get under the hg and cause it to leak so let it air dry
