Evo 8 AC?

Hi all!
I have a problem with my ac compressor and need to replace it (i think?)
When i press the AC on, the fan goes on but it's only blowing hot air, the compressor isn't spinning either.
I have tried to knock onto it to give it a go but without results..

Is there any other Mitsubishi make that has the same AC compressor as the Evo 8?
Why i'm woundering is because here in Sweden there isn't that many evos around..

Thanks in advance.

You should test the pressure on the low and high side of the system before proceeding. If they are out of spec the compressor will not operate.

The system is newly filled and tested, no leaks etc tho.

Make sure compressor is getting power. if it is and freon levels are correct then you most likely have a bad compressor.

Pretty common Evo issue. Even if it ends up not being the issue, always good to know as most do fail like this eventually.

I would trigger the compressor relay under the hood to see if the AC clutch is at fault. If it's fine, there is a 12v signal that goes from your AC controller to your ECU when you turn it on. You can check it with a multimeter. Here is a page from the evo 8 service manual.

Grounding pin 8 on ecu connector C- 121 could also force the AC compressor to turn on.
