ACD Relocation Wire Gauge?

I am in the process of relocating my ACD pump to the rear. I understand that the ACD fuse is 60A. It looks like the people that have done this before are using a 12 gauge wire. when I look up the wire gauge recommended for 60A and ~15 ft run I am seeing a recommended wire gauge of 4. the stock wiring looks to be 10-12 gauge, but the run is only 3 feet or so, which is still undersized per the "proper" wire gauge amp rating.

How much amperage is the ACD pump really pulling? has anyone even blown an ACD fuse? I would think that if the ACD was really pulling 60A a lot of people that did this relocation would have burnt out wiring....

If you have done this relo, what wire gauge did you use? did you fuse the power supply and if so what fuse did you put in?

typically they are designed to be 80% of max...

so inrush current on the motor is probably in the 45 amp range.

then it probably runs in the 30 range...

just a guess.
