removed the intercooler sprayer bottle and replaced it with this hose
it sits in the position the horn used to sit so it can take in fresh air more efficiently behind the mesh

Cool idea. Similar to the stock diverter i still run.

Ive seen guys make up there own cool boxes for the open filters which is keeping the intake from ingesting engine heat

i got the stock diverter too but too me it looks the air has to make an odd angle to enter
this should be in theory more efficient

If I were to keep my car, I was going to make a custom subaru style mailbox above the intake on the drivers side of my hood. This would deliver the freshest air possible. I had planned on making a little aluminum closet for it so that it would seal nice when I close the hood. I was going to fabricate it out of thin aluminum (which I already bought) and then tig weld it to the stock hood and then make it look stock with fiberglass and filler before repainting.

hmm I dont think you need that hose you can slant the fender liner to deflect more air from the bumper to go upwards to the intake. I also added a wall under the frame to separate engine/heat from fresh intake air

I fiberglassed a duct into the bumper opening and connected semi-rigid dryer vent pipe. It worked too well and I had to run a blockoff plate if it rained otherwise the MAF was not happy.
