Timing issues

Here are pictures of my cam gears and crank gear in relation to the marks. They are dead on. A very small difference is on but you really shouldn’t have maybe half a tooth between them all.

as another helpful reference, there are 17 belt teeth between the marks, not including the tooth on the intake side.





Don’t mind the mess, I have an oil leak in dealing with.

Thank you for the follow up, i had everything good to go and timed and she rotated I did this a few times and all is good. So I start to plan of attack on putting the car back together..

but for whatver reason i notice the tension on the belt was getting slack where the timing gears are at. So I pressed the belt and when I did that the cams went back and back out of time again? If everything is timed and the belt had proper tension and about half hour or so I noticed the belt losing tension i would imagine my new tensioner is bad? I'm wondering If that's the reason I have been struggling?

It does sound like your timing belt tensioner is bad. Grab get a photo of your timing tension. Where was your oil leak?
