hks ssqv questions

i am plannin on buying the hks ssqv BOV for my evo. i have some questions and i hope that you guys can give me some direct answers with minimal badgering...

1. is there a valve specific to the evo or is the valve they advertise as being for the evo the universal valve ?

2. lancershop sells one and then has the bolt on flange for it, is this the universal with the adapter needed sold separately to make it for the evo to make more money ?

i guess what i am asking is, is the hks ssqv just a universal blow off valve and then depending on the flange you use you can adapt it to whatever vehicle you may have or is there a specific hks ssqv BOV designed for the evo ? i find prices for the universal for like 125, 150 or whatever, then i see it for sale advertised as for the evo and although it doesn't include the flange for it, it costs 50 to 75 more.

i'd appreciate your help and sorry for any confusion...

As already noted, the 2g dsm kit works just fine and has no fitment issues to speak of.

All HKS kits include the "universal" BOV. The universal BOV by itself goes for around 200 or so depending on where you get it from. The kits that are sold have the universal bov, but with a pipe or fitting or hose of some type to connect it to your sotck system in some way. All the BOV's start as universal, it's just the pipe or thread or fittings that make it specific to a certain car.

im sorry you had problems with the valve, but for every post i see bad about it, i see 3 or 4 that are good, a lot of people have problems with a lot valves, and cars unfortunately react to things differently....

to trent thanks for clearing that up... now can i buy the kit separately from the valve to adapt it to the evo... or is that the flange kit that i see people selling ?

The best thing to do is just buy the full kit so as to make it as easy and simple of an installation as possible. The flanges that are sold separately are for welding on to an existing pipe which most people will do when and if they do aftermarket or custom IC piping. If you have stock IC piping, the best thing to do is just buy the kit.
