Hks Ssqv Question

I just bought a HKS SSQV W/ UICP and I am planning on getting that and some other stuff installed at AMS I am just wondering if my car is going to run like hell if I use this BOV I have heard alot of bad things and people bashing it, I can exchange/return it from where I got it so please let me know honest opinion and what you think would be the best BOV for me.

All right man, I have one it came on the car when I got it (used). I really like it. My friend has a new IX MR SE and he is getting one.
It works great sounds great, gets attention. Have fun with it, no bad side effects AT ALL.
I was told gas mileage would suck among other things. Untrue. Relax and enjoy your ride.

Uhh no pal. I speak from experience. Heres what happened to me. I had my SSQV w/ EIDS so that I would have no idle problems. Worked great! So I thought. The second long blow off is cool but it gets old, gets unwanted attention (cops, theives), and will cause your car to run filthy rich for that one second. Also, mine caused my catalytic converter element to crumble to pieces and clog up my exhaust. I ran like **** for 2 weeks wondering what the f happened. I lost to a Neon, how sad is that? Your engine will not blow up, I was bieng sarcastic. I am still looking for damage to my car from the whole blow off thing. Make sure youre tuned for it. If you like it good for you go blow off your brains out. N-Joy!

Just proof that you can find someone on here that will tell you whatever it is you want to hear, if you look for it.
Sounds like you already don't like it so send it back.
I am sure the engineers at HKS made a BOV that is going to f-up your car they just want to see how many suckers will buy it.
Good luck.

it will not f-up the car, but it will cause the car not to perform at its peak condition by venting out metered air! stalling and running rich between shift is the only down side of this bov.

The truth is that everyone on this board freaks out about that BOV but it works fine on the '05+ evos. I have had it on my MR for over a year and its fine. The sound does get old but i can't even hear mine over the wastgate anymore so just that i know its holding boost is good enough for me Your stock turbo WILL surge during some partial throttle driving with the HKS! I almost switched b/c of it but now i have a BB turbo with anti surge ports that works great.

Plain and simple, if you have a 9, your serious about your modding path, and want to be able to hold 25+ psi then get the HKS or Tial...but if your staying anywhere close to stock the DV that comes in your car is just perfect.

I dont like the SSQV. if you are looking for an aftermarket BOV we have had great success with the greddy type RS.

i had a forge on my o3 and switched to the hks becuase i also like the sound. the only side affect i have had is when i come to a stop after letting off the gas the cars idle will act like it gonna die then bounce back up to normal idle. hasnt stalled yet. other than that, just driving around town or getting on it, i havent noticed anything, just the drop in idle when i come to a stop. but i found that if you pop it in neutral and bump the throttle before comming to a stop, it wont act like it want to stall. other than that i have no complaints with it.
