Question from a frenchie (sorry for the english!)
Hi all,
I've a question concerning my
:
I would like to buy a "full inox exhaust sytem" for my Evo 8 (meaning from the downpipe to the cat-back) but some people told me that I could have an overboost problem with my turbo due to the replacement of the cata by a "full inox tube".
Did someone have this problem before on his Evo?
Which part of the exhaust should I change not to have such a problem???
Thanks a lot and "Vive les Evos!".
Cédrik.

The symptom you are talking about is called “boost-creep.” It’s caused by having a waste gate that’s too small to support a larger, freer flowing exhaust system. It’s nonexistent on Evos because of the size of the waste gate opening. So go ahead and get a full 3” turbo-back exhaust. There is nothing to worry about.
Well, he is talking about fuel cuts/ignition cuts I presume, the EVO VI had lots of issues with that just with 3" turbo back system and an open filter.
Cédrik, the VII and VIII is not at all that sensitive and you can go a head with a full 3" exhaust without problems.
