It sits close but doesn't hit anything. I can't imagine a downpipe that was 3 inches that wouldn't hog up the limited amount of space down there. It clears the stock tie bars also. No leaks no rattles for me and great gains.

Who sells a 2.5" HF cat anyways?
I'll keep an eye out for you, but ultimate racing makes 2.5 high flow cats. You should check them out, I hear nothing but good things from them.

Any dyno numbers.????? People say it is a great mod, but every dyno that I've seen that has tested the downpipe exclusively has negligible gains... There was an article posted by a tuner magazine that broke the gains down... I'll try to find it... I was less than impressed...

I would bet that a test pipe and catback make more power than a downpipe, highflow cat and catback...

RMR DP dyno'd at Turbo Trix had a 21 WHP gain..... well worth it IMO.... I found the turbo spooled up quicker when I put it on.....

FANTASTIC article; shows 20hp and 20ftlb tq for entire exhaust with mild gains from the downpipe - what I can't believe is THEY DIDN'T REPLACE THE CAT???? Therfore they got a fixed restriction - wonder what a hiflow cat would do for the numbers

Grod is right ... We did have like 20whp gains from a dp.. Every evo is different.. but that was done back to back ..with an RMR dp. I do know that the stock cat is the biggest power robber in that car. A stock exhaust with a cat delete would be better off then a dp and cat back ..any day. Just an fyi... The car detonate soo easy with a stock cat and mods..

for xtang --> theres little point of installing JUST the 3 inch DP if the other bottleneck isnt freed up... thats why you see negligible gains during an exclusivly DP testing
