GReddy Type-S Blowoff Valve install
Just wanted to say thanks again TurboTecnica, between your write-up and the one on EvoMoto, the install was a piece of cake.
The difference between a regular Greddy Type-S and the kit from RRE is that the plain Greddy will not mount on an Evo ... you need the correct adapter flange. It looks like the kit from RRE has a nozzle on the flange, which hooks up to the (sometimes) unused second nozzle on the Greddy BOV. I purchased my kit from Lancershop (which comes with a flange that does not have a nozzle) and I used Silver Surfer's single spring mod on my Greddy, which means that I did not hook anything up to the second nozzle on the Greddy.
IMO the chirp is a little annoying ... can that be, umm, "fixed"?
I'm assuming it has something to do with how the BOV opens and closes...
I'm pretty sure the Greddy will handle up to 25psi with no problems,using only one spring and the tension screw... if you're boosting higher than that, you can always use both springs.

In TurboTecnica's screenshots (first one), it shows that the stock BOV is positioned on its "side." In a "How to install Type-S BOV..." article at evomoto.com (http://www.evomoto.com/tech_info.php?techID=23), there's another photo of the stock BOV at this same position.
Now, I've also seen photos of the stock BOV installed in an "upright" position. Here are a couple of photos from the K&N Typhoon Air Intake system for the EVO VIII installation manual (see attachments).
SO WHICH ORIENTATION SHOULD THE BOV BE!?!?
I'd like for those Evo owners who HAVE NOT yet messed with the stock BOV to please check their car and let me know.

I beleive they tap into the lower part of the BOV to help keep the plunger in position till you lift off the pedal . So at part throttle it should help be more consistent. I have this bov but not from the RRE guys, I love it and it will hold up to 24 psi from what ive experience first hand. Got mine on ebay for 160 a couple months back new
There illustration is incorrect the BOV is backwards in those pics and can cause problems.

Evomoto did not have a stock intake on the Evo that they were using to illustrate the install, therefore the stock BOV's position is not the same as it would be on a bone-stock Evo. Turbotecnica's pictures are correct. That is exactly how the stock BOV was installed from the factory on my Evo. It is also exactly how the Greddy Type-S should be positioned. The only things that may differ is your flange kit, which may or may not force you to use all of the connections on the Greddy Type-S BOV.

Well, I got mine from RRE and they are not pre adjusted because they are the same kits they sell for the 2nd generation eclipse. All cars are different so they don't guarantee that you will not need adjustment. You should make sure after you install it, to drive around and make sure your getting all the boost you had before. If you don't, just tighten or loosen the screw till you get full boost. This is just my .02 cents. I have been told by RRE and DSS to do this.
yeah, you also want to make sure that it isn't too tight, or you may get compressor surge. I saw a bunch of turbo cars over the weekend that had compressor surge - although none with a Greddy Type-S 
IMO you should probably start out with the adjustment screw all the way out and then tighten it as needed (ie. if you're leaking boost, tighten it some more).

When you say "in the middle", do you mean put the bolt in the middle of the screw? Wouldn't that just rattle off eventually? Im kinda confused as in how to tighten and loosen the setting...I have mine all the way towards the bov, all the way tightened...i just got her today (the bov).
quiksylver that is right. YOu want the bolt to be tight and against the BOV. ITs the locking bolt. What equi42 means is that the adjustment screw, the one with the threads, should be adjusted to where half of its length is sticking out. I dont know how long the screw is, but I have mine to 5-6 threads out from the locking bolt. I have mine recirculated. At first I thought it was VTA because I didnt connect the very tiny tiny nipple, I only connected the two main larger pipes. Anyway, still get the whistle sound!

Thanks! It is definitely louder than stock. When partially on the throttle and then letting off, there is the nice GReddy chirp, and if you really get on it.. you hear plenty of wooshing (most of this is from the intake though, I'd imagine) and then the BOV really rips. It sounds great! We couldn't wipe the grin off our faces after it was installed 

Oh and if anyone knows how I can get a sound clip of it.. I'd appreciate it..
