GReddy Type-S Blowoff Valve install
GReddy Type-S Blowoff Valve install
This if my first post here, so I'd just like to say hello. Thought I'd start it off with a good note: a blowoff valve. I wrote up a big long thread about it, and then when I went to send it somehow it got erased. So after much frustration and mumbling under my breath, I made one picture for the whole install. Sorry for 56K users, but it's the easiest way to do it. We installed a GReddy Type-S blowoff valve on my friends 03 Evo 8 today. I know he is around here somewhere, so if you read this Art - come in and say hi! Hope it helps...

I hope this helps to anyone who might be considering doing this install. It took about 30-40 minutes total, including a phonecall to Road/Race to check one thing, and looking for wrenches. Good luck!

Also does it sound like wooshing air when recircing or does it sound like the signature greddy chirp?

When partially on the throttle and then letting off, there is the nice GReddy chirp, and if you really get on it.. you hear plenty of wooshing (most of this is from the intake though, I'd imagine) and then the BOV really rips. It sounds great! We couldn't wipe the grin off our faces after it was installed

I have one on order

It's $230 for the kit. It includes the adapter, too.

your not going to see any stalling or idle issues with recirc valves, There should be no compressor surge either if its adjusted properly.. I'm jsut surprised they adjusted these before installs... COOL
How much PSI is the valve good for? actually i should say spring...
