I have the K&N Typhoon and the Forge recirculating valve. Sounds great, better mileage (though maybe just due to a new filter) but I never got this mileage so I think it is the intake. Install was incredibly difficult when it should have been simple just because of the orientation of an original clamp. So that was actually the removal of the old one not the install of the K&N. The carbon fiber looks nice, but I plan to add a Kansai carbon box as well.

I had one on my WRX. Most people told me it that intakes in general didn't do much for a WRX, but it definitely made a difference on my car. Wondering if it would do the same for an Evo.

this has been discussed so many times.. why not do a search on it first?
most aftermarket intakes confuse the MAF because so much more air is flowing through.. hence it compensates by adding more fuel.. and this causes the car to run richer.. NOT leaner.. this is why you lose hp with just an intake mod.
AMS showed this on their dyno tests.. but they also showed that about 7hp and 7tq can be achieved with a trick A/F adjustment.
i suggest you pick a filter that lets more air in, but also won't clog up your MAF by letting too many particles through...
K&N is a tried and true brand for this.

why would they be making a AEM SRI if it wasn't proven to gain some sort of gains? nontheless i'm happy with it, im pretty sure most of the people with the AEM kit are also. if true, i'll sacrifice a lil hp/tq for the cool sound it emits..
