well here it is- my car has about 8000 miles on it and the only mods i have are catback intake and boost controller, but i think its already screwed up..about two days ago i was driving and i rolled into 3rd at about 3k rpms the motor revved and it made full boost but it didnt jump like normal, i waited and then shot off after about 2 seconds....what is making it do this?? is it clutch?vaccum line?intercooler pipes? please help all you knowledgeable guys....thanks!

that's your clutch letting you know it's time for a replacement. In a matter of no time, the ignorant people on this board will assume that you are an inexperienced driver, and it is all your fault that your stock clutch is bad.

Did the RPM's increase without you moving much faster? or did it feel like the power just fell off? Sounds like your clutch might be slipping if the engine revved but you didn't "Take off"

ha ha! seriously though, clutches shouldn't burn out that quick, even if you are inexperienced, just as long as you aren't abusing the vehicle.

I like these clutch discussions. People always say its an inexperienced driver. Evo's have a clutch problem. Its plain and simple. This crap that everyone is a begginner is really annoying to read. I started driving a stick on a 1987 honda civic that had 110k miles on the stock OEM clutch. It never blew up while I was learning, and I dont think that I learned quicker than anyone else who has ever learned how to drive a stick. Even if he's learning, it shouldnt fail at 3k miles. If you drag for 3k miles then yes it'll fail as to be expected, but this crap with "oh you cant drive a stick" is just ghey.

In my rant, I failed to mention that I do agree that it sounds like your clutch is on its way out...

WHERES MY GOD DAMN COOKIE? I WANT IT TO SAY "PROFESSIONAL DRIVER!!"

Seriously, My evo has 27,000 miles on it, track races, no probs, whats the deal? HEAT kills a clutch, I bet some peopel just burned it bad one day OR got it after teh dealers flogged the hell out of it.

My Evo had 4 miles on it when I bought it, I made sure.

did you smell anything after it free reved? you said you were still getting full boost right ?
If your clutch is slipping, you shouldn't get full boost because you have less load now.
