Guys I have had a hotrod2448-esque situation as of late whereby I cannot even drive on the highway without having to constantly dip in and out of the throttle in order to keep it from 'misfiring'. I cannot wait to get on Mitsu's *** about this next week after I move.

Mitsuorder, nothing against Al, but I know a couple of us thought that Al's solution to the p0300 error code being thrown was a bad one. Seems like all it does is ignore the code, which does not solve the problem as you can now see. This is why it's so damn important that Mitsu gets their **** together asap. My dealership now has 4 known cases here in Rochester where this is occuring on a regular basis. I was the 1st one of course. =/

Also I am getting the stutter (timing pull I still believe) in every gear now, especially 3/4/5, whenever I am cruising at a steady RPM. I've had it on acceleration (load) more than a few times as well. It just gets worse and worse...

Oh one more thing, next time this happens to you, go ahead and floor it. The entire car shakes, it's ridiculous.

Al told me nothing about forcing the ecu to ignore this code, have you spoken to him about this? He also said that he had never experienced this before.

No it's just speculation. He hasn't released any information as to how he managed to get it to ignore the code, but obviously that's what it's doing.

I would tend to agree with that, since when I get the P0300 under similar circumstances, I always get a P0300 code.

I know for an absolute fact that the Dynoflash isn't ignoring any codes. This is just more internet spread misinformation.

My 0300 issue is getting really bad. I get the studder, cel whenever I lightly get into the throttle in 4th or 5th, 3200-4000rpms..... I noted 5 seperate incidences on my 10 mile freeway commute from work yesterday.

SC~

Seems like yours has always been the worst of the group! I don't get it nearly that often, although I don't drive freeways to work either...

Guys I'm in very good with the people at my dealership and have discussed this with them. I have let them know that this is becoming more and more common with the evo's, the people that work there as individuals are concerned about this and are going to try and bypass all the mitsu bs to see if they can't get us all an answer. I know this may not seem like much as most of you have been screwed by your dealers and district reps and what not but I actually have these guys on our side. Just wanted to let you know that I'm trying a back door approach for us all. I see these guys about 3 times a week, they are all straight up with me because I'm the same way with them concerning my mods. Will let you all know when and if I hear something. Good luck to all. Btw how many of you are still on stock plugs?

webguy330i,

Just talked to my guys over at the dealership for you and they said that they have seen no papers on this reflash from mitsu but will double check for me. I have to drop by tomorrow to pick up something from parts so I'll talk to them again then. I know you guys have exhausted many if not all resources in trying to cure this problem. I was getting all of the symptoms of the missfire and so was my buddy, pretty sure he was throwing the code but can't rember because he was throwing a no cat code too, anyway we have been in the process of test fitting i/c piping on our cars and after we reinstalled stock piping on our cars and tightened ALL of the i/c piping clamps, neither one of our cars do it anymore.

Is this happening to cars that only have 91 octane available? I haven't encountered this problem at all.

I suspect it's happening to cars that are running 91 and/or oxygenated fuels.

Actually there are plenty of people running 91 cali gas and even at 14-15k miles they have never experienced this issue.

The injector issue is one thing, but the resonance/knock sensor issue is related to the transmission and component break-in. Straight from MMNA, that is the cause of most of these p0300 issues and as you can see we are waiting and waiting and waiting... ... ...

Thanks for the update mitsuorder, they likely won't turn anything up unless they call the district rep and he/she calls the regional rep and/or mmna corporate.
