I use 93 oct and it happened to me. Only once, though, and it cleared itself. Haven't seen anything in the last 3 or 4 months. The car is completely stock.

I can't read whatever your fix is, my mitsu dealer in florida has never heard of anything about this code, but in NY they have already told me of the ecu flash. I have experienced it numerous times, but now that I am back in SOFLA, it hasn't happenned once, only north of jacksonville, really wierd, Sofla mitsu blames it on northern gas and my use of octane boost... bullpuckey!

manual actually says 98 octane RON, i dunno what that is though....

Maybe we can lobby mitsu to pull all emissions devices from car, then maybe it will run awesome like in Japan!!

98 RON would be comparable to 91 R+M/2

I believe my first Evo was a resonance problem as it only did it in two gears. It seemed like once the trans wore past that particular phase which took about 1,000 miles it went away and never came back. It started around 10,000 on the odometer and was gone by 11,000 but it did it consitently during that 1,000 miles. I don't think that everyone who's car is misfiring is doing that though.

This issue seems to be a usdm one, the evo 8s we have here (jdm) and the ones in the uk don't have this isssue. Hope you folks get it sorted out ...

Well, I threw the code this weekend. I had a feeling it was going to be the PO300. I made it to the dealership while I was on vacation to have the code cleared, and on my way home I threw another one. My car has been running like absolute garbage after I fill up, maybe it's the gas.

One of the reasons I bought this car was because I got tired of staring at a CEL all the time.

I'm currently running factory downpipe and cat, never used fuel additive, and I always fill up with 91 octane.

better come out with a fix soon.
