TSB bulletins - somebody hook me up please!!

Hey Guys,

I'm taking my car to Mitsu in the morning to have a few things looked at. One of those things is the notorious 3rd gear grind (3k miles, it's happened since the very first week of ownership, fairly rare occurence, but seems to happen more often when temp's cold). I've read in a few recent posts that a TSB mentions that mechanics should use GM syncromesh to help the problem - but of course there's never a mention of which bulletin, or a screenprint or anything. I called the dealership the other day, and I told them that I wanted them to put in Syncromesh while my car was in, and their reply was something like "doing things like that may void your warranty" (the usual BS). Does anybody know which belletin it is? If you could print it here so I can bring it to them in the morning, it would be greatly appreciated.

There was not one for the Evo to my knowledge... The one I've refered to in a few posts was for the 1st Gen DSMs (I forgot where I put the info). The Mistu parts guy even told me they had the stuff for sale, but I'd find it cheaper at the GM parts counter.

Doh!

Yours was one of the posts I was referring to...so I probably won't be able to get Syncromesh without hearing a bunch of crap from Mitsu! Does anybody know if they would have any justification of voiding parts of my warranty because of this. I would think that if the tranny oil is just a different brand, they wouldn't have a problem! It just kills me that they are so jumpy to void a warranty!
