Question Induction pipe for stock airbox

There is many topics about air filters. In my opinion the drop in type is the best one, but I couldn't find anything about air inlet pipes.
It would be good to put here all information possible to understand what kind of performance improvement it can give.
Raises turbo lag? Needs a high amount of boost than stock? Is better/worse to avoid engine heat? some dyno test? etc...

it straightens the airflow more after the sensor. The stock intake 'pipe' is like an accordian

Who make's the red induction pipe in the original post?

Are both of the pipes shown a direct replacement of the factory piece which allows you to maintain the stock airbox?

The reason I went with a KN drop in panel and stock airbox is because I dont want any wierd MAS readings and any drivability issues. Do these after MAS pipes cause any problems? Any one have any first hand experience?

Its just far enough into the air track to cause some noticable things to happen. Most people who get them also have a tune done.

What kind of tune? I was thinking of installing this air inlet pipe with my stock car... maybe it is not a good idea... /?/

I had the same question when I was changing over the stock intercooler hoses to some nice SAMCO ones. After about 1/2 day research (including a comment from Dave Buschur) I came to the conclusion that it would need a tune.

I think the idea here is the accordian type hose restricts the air a bit and if more air were allowed using a hard and straighter pipe, the processor would see more air and try to make the EVO run even richer thereby killing somemore performance. So...with that said, the stock computer has a pretty small window to compensate for Volumetric Effeciency changes such as induction changes, and cams.

Personally I don't think you'll 'damage' anything...but I've already planned this upgrade for when I can get all of my ducks together...which is...exhaust...computer...o2 tuning sensor.

Thanks,

0.02.

I was also told that a new induction pipe on the EVO would require a tune because it allows too much air to flow through.

I was personally looking at getting the one from Dejon Tool before I found out that I needed some tuning to accomodate the new pipe. If I recall, theirs was the least expensive of all the ones I could find, at $140.

Is the Ralliart ECU the correct tool for this tune job?
I know that this ECU change the air/fuel ratio, but I don't know if this ECU was created for use with another Ralliart parts like air inlet pipe and intercooler pipe... I guess so
