eve-slow and mifesto are both right;

K&N outflows a paper filter. easily.
paper filters waaaaay better than K&N.

I choose the middle ground, foam. K&N is a pretty crappy filter and that might be alright for a tarmac race car, but for a daily driver or god forbid something that will see dirt every now and then, I don't like K&N.

I do have a K&N on a vehicle right now though: my CBR.

The WORKS Drop-In filter drops right in and doesn't have any of that rubber edging bleeding into the gauze filtration area which makes some other brands have more of a rectangular open area than a proper square one.

The WORKS reusable cotton filters just as good as stock (microns) and outflows the other reusable gauze filters out there. The best of both worlds.
Will be available next month at an introductory price of $69.
