I need help...car died

I was driving today, cruising at 55mph and the speedo shot down to zero and the car died in the middle of the road. I pulled over and tryed to restart and the car wouldnt turn over. I sounded like it was about to start and just would not turn over. i had it towed to my dealer, has anyone had this happen to them before. and btw i checked the ic piping and that wasnt the problem. thanks in advance fore any input

If you had the car at your house you could yank a few of the plugs connect it to the plug wire (with a pair of gloves on) and crank it to see if you have spark. But the dealer will figure it out

could this be the beginning of the 4G63 grimlins coming out to play with the owners?

I only ask because the DSM crowd (including myself) have been fighting a brutal war with the grimlins for years now and mostly losing.

Good luck fixing the car. At least yours is under warrenty!

Sounds like a timming belt issue but your car is new. Also sounds like a fuel pump issue also. Did it hesitate when you saw the rpm shoot to zero? More details pleases.....

Greddy: there was no hesitation at all, the rpms went from 3000 right to zero and the speedo did the same and then engine shut down while i was cruising at 60 and i struggled to brake and pull the car over
