Need help with boost please....

I am getting a Manual Boost Controller and was wondering what is it safe to set the boost at above 19PSi stock on a EVO 8 with the Following Mods...

3" Downpipe.
3" Cat Delete Pipe.
3" Catback Exhaust.
Open Cone Intake

I dont have a fuel pump upgrade yet, but if i should get 1 to be on the safe side of raising my PSi, let me know what fuel pump i should get.
Also, is there a way to install a MBC without having to cut tubes, cause i want to be able to cleanly remove it if i have to take it to Mitsubshi for service.

Thank you for your posts.....

I'd like to know this also. Do you need to upgrade (or is at least recommended) your fuel pump if you up the boost (via a controller)? As far as the psi, I believe spike to 21 and taper to 18 is the safest on a relatively stock setup. I could be wrong. Use the search. I've read about it a bunch of times thats why I think the numbers stand out. Hope this helps.

No problems boosting to 21- 22 but Very important that you have away to set your air fuel ratios, ie. reflash, a/f controller, ecu. (I didn't see it in your list of mods)

Running to lean can be fatal!!!!

Your probably ok, but upgrading the "hardware" and not adusting the "software" always buggers me out. good to be cautious IMO.

anyway don't listen to me cause I'm an idiot I would call, PM, a good tuner before boosting to high.

good luck!!!

You can get away with 19 or 20 tops.
Anything above that is not worth it because you are not gaining anything.
The turbo is only so efficient and without other supporting mods you are not going to make anymore power. Get it tuned on a dyno with just your mods and you'll see the 1 or 2 extra psi don't do much.
