Help...Put Diesel in the Evo...

My evo was in dealer after i put a tank of a premium gas in it.
They found out that it was diesel instead...the gas delievery guy put diesel gas in the premium tank....thats what the gas station owner said...
now my question is...even tho dealer has cleaned the whole fuel system...my evo still...chokes... dealer told me that it would take a few tanks to actually clean the traces of diesel left in the fuel system..
the big question is ...would diesel damage my engine ?? do i need to change oil? i just dont feel right..when im drving my baby...
i need some feedback..thanks..

Diesel fuel is EXTREMELY low octane (in the 30-40 range). Your engine would have been knocking very heavily with that fuel and it is very possible that you may have internal damage. Ringlands and rod bearings take the most abuse. I would bust the ***** of the station owner until they pay for an engine rebuild. (or a new shortblock)

I would demand a new engine and total clean out of the entire fuel system at the expense of the company that mixed up the fuel:

"HOW DOES THE OCTANE OF DIESEL AND/OR JET FUEL COMPARE TO GASOLINE?

Diesel and Jet fuel (along with kerosene) have, indeed, terrible octane numbers; typically about 15-25 "octane". They tend to ignite easily from high compression. Their use in a gasoline engine will quickly destroy the engine."

If you have driven it under heavy boost I would worry about your engine. If it has just been idling and then was cleaned out with some residue left that now has to burn off, I wouldn't worry about the motor itself - it's almost like engine top oil (they used to do that in the old days for valve and supercharger lubrication). However, I definitely would worry about your catalyst.

Involve the dealer and Mitsubishi. If they are willing to give you a letter that states that they will honour any warranty claims in the future resulting from this (they will not do this), then leave it be. If not, ask for their advice what needs to be done for them to continue their warranty obligations and then go back to the fuel supplier and go from there. If they don't play, get a lawyer.

yeah ,remember, diesel engines don't have sparkplugs. the fuel detonates just by compression, which speaks to how low the octane actually is

Get a oil an OIL ANALYSIS ASAP. That gas station might have to buy you a new engine.
