Exclamation Need measurement!

Could somebody please provide me with a measurement between the top of the exhaust cut out on the rear bumper to the middle of the lower right rear suspension arm (the arm where the shock absorber connects) on a USDM EVO8?

On this picture you can see a moulding reinforcement bridge on the suspension arm and that would make a good measuring point and then just straight to the top of the exhaust cut out:

Reason for needing this is that I plan to order a US made 3” exhaust and since I have an EVO7 this measurement is likely to be slightly longer on the US EVO8 so I need to have my exhaust made a tad shorter. And I would of course prefer a pretty accurate number rather than an “about xx inch/cm” or an estimate

Thanks in advance guys

I'd measure it now for you but I'm sitting here at the office without a tape measure. I can do it when I get home.

Okay, I measured from the top bolt head holding the anti-roll bar to the outside top center of the exhaust tip cutout. It measures 77.1525 cm (aka 30 3/8"). I measured using the bolt rather than the suspension arm because it was a straighter measurement from the cutout. Let me know if this works for you.

You know, a system such as the Buschur is a slip fit design. That makes it really easy to adjust the overall length of the system as well as how far the muffler tip protrudes. You can get it tucked pretty far under the bumper or have it stick out far enough to burn the hell out of your leg. Not sure what you've got your heart set on but it might be worth checking out.

I'm actually looking at the Buschur exhaust and have been in contact with David several times. I’m aware of the slip design and that it will be possible to adjust the length due to that. Sad thing is that shipping kills their exhaust, they quoted me a tad above $400 for shipping to Sweden. I’v also been in contact with RnR earlier for one of their exhaust with a HKS muffler on and shipping were around $175 if I recall correctly. I’m trying to solve this some way, maybe having a shipping company pick up the package without involving Buschur in the shipping part. I’ll try to work something out

What if BR made a special two piece cat back section? I'm pretty sure that's the section that is killing you for shipping. And yes, due to the thin wall design and length, that section of pipe does get beat up.

International freight is a tricky business and when you use UPS, they really stick it to you because the deal with all of the duty and customs. They are door to door. Sometimes a freight consolidator can take a shipment from a domestic delivery agent such as UPS and then forward it overseas as part of a consolidated shipment for alot less than UPS charges. Whatever you end up doing, it's gonna take awhile.

Any market for BR systems in the EU? Ship twenty BR Stage 4 packages over in a container and become the European distributor! :P Hell, license the design and have it produced domestically.
