Actually the real question would be: Is it high HP that benefits from the damper or high RPM?

I have a built 2.0l that cranks out maybe 420whp on a road racing tune, but if the damper will help to alleviate some wear and tear on my block when it gets revved out to 9K, then it's well worth it.

Thats a good point. Curt Brown said this "it's actually way heavier, but smooths out the motor up top, seems to be saving my rod bearings since I rev to 10,500 rpm."

Thats interesting, however, 2.0L built motors have been known to run LONG even with abuse... its the stroker that Id worry about.

Yes, it's way hevier.

Performance is not all about saving weight, it's also bout having parts that works good together.

I have done almost everything that can be done to a 4G63, as I have a 94mm stroke crank and still whant to rev 8-9k I need to upgrade those parts that might make problem up there.. In my thoughts vibration is on of them.. Hydralic lifters are another one.

If you have a look at http://zevo.se and http://zevo.se/docs/zevo_spec.pdf you can see what's done with my car as for this date.

If I had a stock evo I would'nt spend close to $500 for a pully, but with the amount of $$$ I have spent it's a good part to have.

Btw, now I'm just days from starting the engine for the first time =)

The high rpms, more rpm = more vibration and that is where the damper helps on the bearings. It is heavier though, my friend used it on his all motor honda and it went from 249hp to the wheels to 247hp. Different dyno days though so variables could have contributed to the 2hp loss
