something wrong with my engine or tranny???

okai heres the story. im in 3rd gear, i am around 3500 rpm going about 45 mph then i would half throttle it almost flooring it then the RPM would rise, 3600, 3800,4000. then at 4000rpm it would pause for a second then jump to 5000,6000 etc. It would happen to me also in 4th gear and in 5th gear. I am not sure if its my pulley i have posted about early. Or clutch or something. Can someone help me?!

Also i have another problem. If i am accelerating to 100+ mph it would make a whinning noise. this wouldnt happen if i am normal driving. It sounds the same as the whinning i have in 1st gear. HELP PLEASE. I am going on a 400 mile trip to vishnu next week and i want to make sure everything is normal on my car before the the tunning!!

I'm no mechanic, but my guess would be your clutch...

Does it feel like a stumble? It could be time for new plugs..

if its my clutch, wouldnt it be slipping from the moment i press on the gas while balancing the clutch?

Sounds like your clutch is slipping. It will slip in the upper gear range just like you said. You're gonna have to replace it before getting on the dyno.

I agree with Jack. SOunds like the spark plugs. Which plugs do you have? When I ran colder plugs, the engine had a lil puase mid range

It wouldnt be related to clutch problem , because if he said his rpms where jumping while accelerating then it would be that. But from the sounds of it, I would suggest checking you spark plugs as noted by Jack.

i have 23,335 miles on my car and no problems since this? soo it could be either my spark plugs or my clutch right?

see when i downshift from 5 to 4 then give it a little bit more gas, my RPMS would rise then pause then rise again

Ya I am pretty sure it is your spark plugs. It is good measure to check your plugs atleast every 5k miles, since we are running turbos in our cars .

NGK coppers are roughly $2 a plug. A much cheaper solution than the OEM's
