The manual states we should feed the car 98 RON but sometimes it's impossible to find a station carrying that kind of fuel so what do you put in your car?

The best I could find here is 96.

The octane numbers at the pump are determined by the formula (RON+MON)/2, so 98 RON is probably 93 or 94 octane premium unleaded, and is just fine for the Evo.

 

RON is how they go by in Japan i think

 

And Europe as well, 98RON is the highest we get in Sweden.

 

Problem for this guy is that they go by RON in PI as well, and all he can find is 96 RON fuel. Your best bet is to look into adding xyleen or toluleen to your pump fuel in this situation. There are all kinds of threads on the subject of "home made race gas".
