Question about Engine Oil?

I was just curious what do the Mitsubishi Service Departments put in our Evo's? I know of course its Mobil 1 Synthetic but is it 10w-30 or 5w-30 or the other high performance oil by Mobil 1? Keep in mind that I am living in Florida.

Thanks
Michael

Standard is 10w30 and it's not a special formula-- regular consumer grade. the BMW Mobil1 used in their shops is a unique 0w40 as a point of comparison.

If you live in a warm climate, use synthetic 10W-30, or 10W-40 if it gets really hot in the summer.

Mitsubichy uses 10W-30. It's in the owner's manual.

Correction: the manual says 10W-30. God knows what your particular service department puts in there.

just so you know which oil is going into your car, buy the oil from somewhere else like Wal-Mart, and ask the Mitsubishi Service to do oil change for you....this way you know whats going in your car + saves you a little money....

well hell if you're going to do that just buy a filter too and do the change yourself. put the receipt in your service book.

have the dealership only do the services that require more than an oil change if you want the book kept current for later resale value.

Just thought I should point out that it is going to take 5 quarts of oil for the change. Also that a Mobil 1 filter is going to be much smaller than the Mitsu filter.

I can't buy the oil myself, I have the pitpass so everything is paid for already.
