I have it in my 7, well not exactly the same as there is a slight difference between the 7 and 8 thermostat but the same function anyway.

The reson for using this is that you have a delay when a thermostat opens and if you have a lower temperature when it starts to open you never risk running the engine too hot when suddenly pushing the engine hard and the stock item won't have time to open fast enought. Otherwise you won't notice much else than that the engine temp gauge needle sits a bit lower than normally.

No, and I'm starting to despair now. I'll give it a couple of more weeks but then I'll go the same way as you My guess is that they just don't have enought kits to ship out and that they maybe didn't anticipate the huge interest. Sad anyhow

Hey Swe I talked with them the other day about the 3071r and they had some backlog on them , they are pretty much waiting on the turbos to come from garrett they should hopefully have them tommorow I have the ARC thermo I am waiting to install along with my new turbo. It has an open at 68 degress celcius. It opens earlier than the rali thermo. I hope it will work well since I am running my engine alot hotter than stock.

Well, I've heard that as well, for two weeks now, we'll ship tomorrow, we'll ship end of this week, we'll ship beginning of next week but so far nothing. Seeing is beleiving I guess. Much bs like 3deep says

BTW, the Ralliart opens at 71 degrees celsius if anybody wonders.

Evo 7 SWE, Could you give me more details about the RA thermostat?

You wrote that the temp gauge needle is a little bit lower after RA Therm. How much lower? 1mm; 5mm?

When Do you notice that the needle is lower? During road driving or street driving?

Thank you

1mm, 5mm... what's the difference? The real test is to use an aftermarket gauge that give REAL NUMBER readouts.

Not to bash you, but it's like measuring with a broken ruler.

As for the RA Thermostat (along with a PWR Radiator), I run it and sometime the ECU throws a code. No biggie since I have an error checker in the car with me, but could be a PITA for some people.

FWIW reading the post about it being as a broken ruler

I haven't actually measured the needle point but I would estimate it to be 2-4mm lower. Only time it goes higher and back to the original normal position is when idling and until the cooling fans kicks in. As soon as I start to drive the car it settles in it’s new lower position and stays there. Haven’t done any track driving or such since the install but I expect it to stay at the lower position anyway. Don’t really know how much use you have from this thermostat, I just bought it while ordering a bunch of other stuff from Japan and it wasn’t very expensive and I guess it wouldn’t do any harm.

When it comes to ECU codes and CEL the VII seem to be a lot less sensitive than the VIII. I’m running full 3” exhaust de-cat, HKS racing suction kit, the RA thermostat and so on and I’ve never seen the CEL go on even once.
