Thank god. Whenever these people post run-on sentences, with this shop and that shop they went to get tuned, and how there are tons of crazy problems that nobody in their right mind would have happen, it really makes me question if they know even 1% of what they are trying to talk about. In this case, 1% is probably a gross overestimate. Yeah let's go get a leaded race gas tune good freaking idea EINSTEN lol.

And I thought I abused mt car by running it hard on a daily basis. I drive hard, but safely fuel managementwise.

There's nothing wrong with the tuners ability to tune at all. He has been tuning for years and hasnt had an engine blow so far.

Remember when you ran me after you got the stand-alone done? Do you remember what the tuner told you after you left? Don't beat the hell out of it, its not completely tuned. Dont stay at sustained high rpms. When you raced me, what was your friend doing with the laptop open?

Obviously your car's headgasket was blown before the standalone was put in. Thats how i beat you so badly.

Here are some things you need to know

1. You cant tune a EMS on just three hours of road tuning. You cant just spend so much money on a stand alone and then cut short on spending for the tuning. With a stand-alone, you NEED to spend a lot of time on it. You also only payed for a race gas tune. There wasnt enough time to tune on pump gas.

2. DON'T PUT RACE GAS IN IT FOR EVERYDAY DRIVING! It kills your sensors leaving ever more of a chance for something to f**k up. What the hell is the point? There isnt any race gas where you live. So why would you make you first tune with race gas? You live 3 hours away from the tuner and the race gas you put in your car. Theres no point to run it everyday with your power level.

here is the mod list for him
3 inch exhaust no cat, intake, boost control, AEM EMS, intercooler, intercooler piping, walbro, bov to atmosphere, nitrous purge kit (yup, thats right), dynoflash, new clutch and rebuilt transmission, replaced braking system, 19 inch wheels, front bumber, big system and speakers, and i think catch cans

These are all on Stock injectors, cams, head, headbolts, fuel rails, headgasket, manifolds, and turbo. No guages or any monitoring equipment

3. If you think that you can run more boost because your running race fuel, your wrong. You cant just turn up the boost. Sure you be sure that you wont have detonation issues but what about other issues? What about your cylinders, how will they handle it? What about your head? Are you sure that it won't separate from the block and cause a blown headgasket?

4. I can tell you one thing for sure.
I was running e-manage, catless-exhaust, intake, boost control and a Walbro fuel pump with stock injectors and would hit 104% duty cycle at 18 psi. What happened? Fuel-cut

You had the same thing plus intercooler, intercooler piping, and ran 21psi all-day everyday. Not to mention that you had dynoflash which if im not mistaken has fuel-cut removed. hmmm
As far as i see it, your safety margain went straight out the door with that.

Also, remember what happened when you installed your fuel pump yourself? What happened? Did it break down on the side of the road? It did didnt it. Did you ever fully make sure that the fuel pump was installed 100% correctly after you got it home? Ill let you answer that

Thats where i feel sorry for all the tuners that have problems because of somebody else's mistake and then they get blamed for it. Of course he is the guy that gets blamed

i can remember a qoute i heard once
"I just love what the internet does for people. It puts on a defensive wall around a keyboard warrior letting him be free to say whatever he wants and put on whatever show he wants. He make himself look like an ******* or he can make himself look like the victim. Dont you just LOVE the internet." -rand-

There is nothing wrong with the tuner except for him trying to do what he is payed for. What he did was exactly what he was payed for, not much. He didn't make the part, his main focus is for him to install it correctly and tune it. Thats what he did with what he was given.

Your car being in the shop for most of the year is nobody's fault but yours man. It was either having something installed, fixing something you broke, or wrecked

Its about time it took a **** on you. I feel so sorry for your car. How many times has it been wrecked?

I might be adding a few things to this post so watch for edit dates.
That is all

-Chris-
I can vouch for the fact that what Chris (SilverEvo8owner) posted about this guy (Dean-Evo8Whoa) and his car is the absolute truth. He has created his own problems with his Evo, but wants to blame someone else for them. Not unusual for someone that just graduated from high school and gets an Evo and all his mod money from his parents. Dean, time to grow up and accept responsibility for your own actions. Believe it or not, Evo8Whoa expects the tuner to replace the head gasket
FOR FREE This is rediculous, of course. I saw the Evo yesterday. The engine and underhood area is covered with coolant, it's not rocket science to see what happened. The tuner in question has gone overboard trying to help and this is the thanks he gets, slammed on the Evom forum. There are definitely two sides to every story -- in this case it is whining versus reality.

Another snot nosed kid who thinks this Evo is a super car that allows one to beat the hell out of it anytime they want and expect things to run smoothly. Obviously you do not need a vehicle like this. Actually you don't need to drive for a while and evaluate the way you operate a vehicle. I believe your dad would say the same thing, or has said it already. Do you realize what all is going on inside your engine? First you need to understand what goes on behind the scenes then you will realize what you are doing is BAD ! ! Or start paying $$ for your own mistakes and then you will stop making them. It took me a while to understand back in the day when I thought I knew everything. 4 trannies, 4 sets of rear tires in a year. Did I learn back then, no. Why, becuase mommy and daddy were paying for it. Now is a whole different story. Stuff breaks, I pay for it, and not with graduation money either. And if I can't pay for it the car sits untill I can. Maybe you need the same coaching.

This stuff pisses me off

I mean you have a person that is given a car that just graduated highschool and doesnt do **** to deserve it. Then he does this crap and gives a bad name to all the highschool kids that have an evo. I got my car when i was 17. What happened? As you might expect, i got ALL kinds of **** for it. Now i do realize that yeah most highschoolers with their civics and whatever ricer car they have do, but you cant just say that all highschoolers are dumb and irresponsible. I have taken good care of my car except for driving the hell out of it. (34000 miles in a year and a month) But im still out my stock clutch which EVERYBODY thinks is such a piece of ****. (it is but it will last if you take car of it)

I've earned my car (full ride to college for 6 years) and my car is a fraction of what my education costs. It pisses me off when people tell me "oh mommy and daddy bought your car, dont wreck it or get a civic." Ill tell them **** you! Have a nice day.

Kids these days, and I use the term kindly becuase I'm an old focker, have a better sense when it comes to money. Some anyways. When I was 16-17 I was a sh!thead. Never listened and always did things my way which was the wrong way. I just wish I could go back and do things a bit differently. Chris, you deserve your car, you worked hard for it and you take care of it. Excep for the warped rotors. hehe j/k
