was the knock control turned off... seems that there is a safety feature on the ems to protect stuff like this from happening. I used to run 23-24 psi on my evo with stock head bolts almost every weekend on race gas untill recently changing them to ARP head studs (no problems as long as you have NO detonation). I never had a problem with the head gasket, matter of fact I still have my factory headgasket on the car from when I bought it over a year ago. Also factory injectors are good for 320-390 whp depending on what dyno your on. Eighter way there should be in no way maxed out at 20psi with his setup. Seems like there was a large amount of detonation from runing pump gas on a race gas map, which creates extremly high cylinder pressures.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
Dude im 6'1'' 195lbs and bench 265lbs do you really think that im gonna run from little you?
And even if i did run, are you gonna catch me? My car is faster than yours remember? lol
Im a nice guy. I really dont try to put people down or anything like that. I never gang up on people or try to make their lives living hell. I just smile and keep quiet. But, this time i've had the last straw of stupidity and my eyes have been opened; as well as my mouth.
About me not paying for a dime of my car, a scholarship worth over 20 grand a year renewable six years doesnt pay for anything does it? (i wont tell you how much it's actually worth) Of course not, they're just numbers arent they Dean?
Yeah im grateful that i have my car. My mom thought that i deserved it so she gave it to me. Why? BECAUSE I SAVED HER 100 GRAND THROUGH MY HARD WORK!!!
Anyway lets stop talking about me.
If i were in your spinner shoes, yes i would be pissed.
But... I was trying to say that there wasnt anything wrong with the tuner because i knew that eventually when something didnt go your way like a free headgasket change, that you would blame the tuner. It's always easy to blame somebody else especially at our age Dean. Thats what us teenagers do. But, luckily i have enough sense to accept things that happen when its my fault. Like my brakes, yeah they were my fault. I didnt blame anybody else. Or maybe it was my mom. Maybe it was her fault because she bought me the car. Or maybe it was the tuner's fault because they made my car faster so i had to use the brakes more and because of that they went out before they were supposed to. hmm... i am a teenager so maybe i should act like one.
So uhh Mark, i feel that you owe me the 700+ dollars for my brakes that went out earlier than they were supposed to. It's not fair that you made my car faster and didnt warn me that my brakes would wear down earlier.
Just try and do the unthinkable for once and blame yourself this time. Are you up to the challenge?
Also, stop calling me asking for numbers of different people during the day. It bothers me. I live 70 miles away from the tuner so im not going to drive there and take the keys from the tow truck guy the next time you have your car towed to the tuner thats closed. My life doesn revolve around cars. I have other things to do like prepare for college.
I wasnt really your friend Dean just an aquaintance. I was trying to be nice. But, thats my problem, im too nice.
Cheers
Thanks for the laugh

QUANTUM RACING!is the tuner
We did all the work with the AEM
Thanks guys for trying to defend the shop even though I dont think we need it
The fact of the matter is yes we put in the EMS and tuned it on a very short time table. No it was not right the first time and of course I fixed it.Im not perfect but I do stand by my work 100%
If there was even a chance that this was my shops fault I would be fixing it for nothing, no problem. But Im sorry Dean this one is 100% not my fault. I am not trying to slam you or down grade you in any way.I appreciate every single person that comes to our shop. But I do not appreciate the fact that you got on here and tried to blame this on Quantum. Granted you did not say our name, but it dosnt take a rocket scientist to know who the tuner was seeing that you just posted a few days before that you had us put in your EMS.
We have went out of our way for you ,let you use the shop to work on your car,go fix your car ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD when you broke down after one of your mods that you did.(we didnt even get paid for that!) And this is the thanks we get

Yes, by removing one head bolt at a time. And replacing it with ARP studs when the engine is cold. So yes I do still have my OE headgasket. I have done quite a few evos like this and have had no problems as well as others have done the same.

Ok, please edit your sig and remove those certifications because they apparently mean nothing. I sincerely hope whatever tuner you work for has someone competent doing the dirty work and you actually do paperwork and wash cars.

Problems here:
#1-- Head gaskets are not reusable. They WILL fail if reused after they are torqued once.
#2-- Head bolts *CANNOT* be removed one at a time! They must be removed and installed in a particular order, and usually are not torqued to the full amount in a single step if you have an aluminum head, particularly if the block is also aluminum (which in this case, obviously the 4G63 isn't).

#2- there have been no issues with any shop that has done the head studs in this manner of removing one at a time. On a cold engine you have less of a chance of experiencing any type of warpage. It is typical to see warpage more so on the actual torquing of a head that has been removed from the lack of doing them in the proper sequence.
There are many other shops that do studs the same way and also have had no problems. My certs are there they are real, but thanks for asking, to each their own, have a nice day
