If you go with Turbotrix, I would concider to have a AEM EMS to go with your big turbo. They will have a AEM dyno day in August.

Second this. I'm sure Al explained to you the compromises that have to be made reflashing a big turbo Evo for pump gas.

You have come this far, why not do it right and go for an aftermarket engine computer.

well if you just stop buying flashes every week, eventually you'll have enough to get the EMS... i'd do it if i were you.

Give the guy a freaking break... the flash (whoever's) is capable of running what he can make on pump gas... maybe even more. If he wants to run the OE ECU, the let him. It's his car.

With all due respect Zeus, if you look at the way the ECU maps fuel and spark, it is just not designed to handle much more airflow than stock because load is clamped at what our stock turbo makes at ~21psi. Above stock airflow you end up having to run significantly richer than necessary at partial boost in order to safely support fuel demand at peak boost. For the same reason you have to run more retarded timing than you otherwise would. Both of these compromises are going to hinder spool-up, performance at part-throttle, and drivability. You can play tricks with cam timing to tune out overlap but then it's just a different kind of compromise.

All told a big turbo with just a reflash is a very compromised set-up. Obviously it can be and is done but why not go the whole nine yards if you've already committed to a bigger turbo.
