Have an autometer boostguage - My evo sits at around 19 Hg Vac at idle, I have problems with stuttering at first gear in the low rpms (1200-1500rpms) is this a normal reading ?

Yeah, 19 at idle is normal.. Check your plugs, they may be fouled..
