HKS FCD std or K3?

HKS FCD std or K3?
I just got a HKS FCD from Z1 and they sent me the standard 4- wire. I helped installl an FCD on my buddies Evo and he had the 5-wire K3 type and was told that the standard 4-wire would now work. Anybody know????? Thanks in advance for your help!
