aftermarket clutch or tranny problem?

bought my car with an aftermarket clutch already installed - not sure which one it is, got the car from the dealer used.

Now when I am stopped at an uphill incline and try to creep up it is extremely hard I can hear loud smooth whining coming from the tranny the car will creep up a little bit but when i give it more gas the whining gets louder and the car will not creep up any faster. The tranny whine does not happen when modulating the clutch from a flat surface.

when i try to modulate the clutch (on an uphill incline)the engine bogs, drops a few rpms a bit. the clutch never slips tho, and grips hard past first gear. taking off from a flat surface is not that much of an issue but not as smooth sometimes it will bog a little before taking off.

Is this normal for some aftermarket clutches? What type of clutch do you think I have based on that info (is it a stage 3 clutch? single disc? cerametallic?) could it be a tranny problem?

My Exedy twin disk will make an occasional "whining" noise when slipping off the line at 1800+ rpm. I"m told that this is normal for after market clutches.
