Well if you still have the stock turbo, I would stick with the stock. Getting an aftermarket/bigger IC won't really help you any. In fact it might even lag more due to more air volume that the turbo has to move.

Not true. I picked up 200ish (rpms) on spool-up. I also found out, (the hard way), that the stock IC is a restriction.
I did my own custon IC set-up. I used a Hybrid (brand) bar/plate design, (24x12x3).
After installing, i took it for a test drive, without touching my boost controller (which was set at 19.5 psi).
On my fist full boost pull in 3rd gear, the boost came on hard, (and earlier), peaking at 25psi and blowing the IC hose off at the inake manifold.
Also, living out here in the desert, I am able to run higher boost, without the effects of added heat.
My seat of the pants dyno says 15-25HP, (because anything lower than 15hp isn't really that noticable), this was very noticable.
I did the whole set-up for $450. Now the same IC is selling for $220-260 on Ebay.

Here's what I found:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

This is the one I got, but paid $450. It's sold but maybe they will get more. Email them.

There are many. Check em out.
When I did my measurements, you can fit a 26x14x3.5 core in there, (depending on size of end tanks.
I went bar/plate, higher flow, not as efficient at cooling as tube/fin, which is more restrictive, (but lighter).

I'm still debating should I get an intercooler or not, my most concern about getting one is bigger lag which I don't needed for autox and road course. I bought the AMS lower intercooler pipe though. After installation of the pipe, I took it out for a test drive, touch nothing except the lower pipes. My boost went up from 1.5 bar to 1.7 bar!!! I'm not sure about reducing the lag though, can't really feel the turbo spool faster or slow.

Read 3 messages up. I wrote about the lag issue.

Just looking at your current mod list, you might be better off getting cams first.

I have to agree.. You might be better off with Cams first.. But my admittedly biased opinion is the Buschur intercooler.. The Buschur had minimal pressure drop and lowered my spool slightly.. I installed a whole bunch of pipes at the same time though.. Buschur MAF pipe, Upper intercoolerpipe, and Intercooler.. the aftermarket lower intercooler pipes are lower restriction especially at the turbine discharge (the flanged outlet) so you will certainly get more air into the intercooler faster.. so you should get slightly higher boost, and slightly better spool just from that mod alone.

The stock IC flows very very well and is good up to 350whp, or so. It's actually a pretty decent unit. I'd go with cams first.

I went IC 1st the cams.
The IC increased the flow and improved charge air cooling, then the cams made the most of the increased flow and denser charge.
Get a mod plan that builds upon the preceding mods.

I would go cams first then IC upgrade.
Cams will give you really good seat of the pants power. But if you continue to run full boost in long 4th and 5th gear pulls youll def need an IC upgrade to keep it from heat soaking and run higher timing up top.

With the buschur intercooler did you have to change your BOV and was the new piping in the way of anything

The Buschur upper pipe (which isn't included in their $750 kit) has a flange for a 1G BOV and includes the 1G valve, and as far as I can tell you can't use it with the stock BOV. I'm getting my upper pipe modified so that I can retain the stock BOV (I have to for autocrossing). The Buschur upper piping fits only if you have a small battery kit. Not sure if it clears the stock air box. If you like the Buschur FMIC, buy mine! I'm within driving distance of Philly.
